Dr.Maria Grazia De Giorgi is an Associate Professor in Aerospace Propulsion at the University of Salento, having joined in 2001, where she leads the Green Engine Aerospace Propulsion and Flow Diagnostics Lab.
Her expertise lies in Aerospace Propulsion, Energy, and Environment. Her research focuses on experimental gas turbine combustion characterization, aeroengine modeling, and micropropulsion. She is in the board of the Italian Section of the Combustion Institute and she is authors of more than 240 papers published in published in international journals or presented at international and national congresses and symposia.
Dr. De Giorgi chairs and/or serves as a Technical Team Member for various NATO STO Science and Technology Organization Technical Teams. Engaged in Horizon Europe Projects and several National projects, she explores flame stabilization with plasma discharges and the use of low-zero carbon fuels, including hydrogen and ammonia.
As the scientific coordinator of the ICHAruS project, she collaborates with CERFACS, the University of Florence, and TU Berlin to study hydrogen flame behavior in the presence of non-thermal plasma.
